Don't Worry, Arkane's Blade Game Is "Not Dead" And Is Reportedly Doing Well
Last week was probably the biggest week for games we've had in a long while. PlayStation, Xbox, and Geoff Keighely all combined to give us a week akin to the old days of E3. We saw plenty of huge games both old and new, though there were some heavy hitters missing, one of which was Arkane's Blade game, which has been missing for several years at this point.
What with Arkane in a bit of a troubled state after the mess that was Redfall, as well as Microsoft's willingness to shut down promising projects and studios, you can be forgiven for worrying about the studio's next big game. That made its no-show during last week's showcases a little awkward, but we have thankfully been told that it's not dead just yet.
Blade Is Still Alive, And Apparently Well
Rumors were rife about the game's cancellation due to comments made by industry insider Jeff Grubb, speculating that the game might be dead. He later clarified in a separate tweet that he has checked with his sources since, and claims that there are "reasons we haven't seen it", but that they have nothing to do with the overall quality of the game.
Adding to that, another insider, albeit with a slightly shakier reputation, called Shpeshal Nick has also claimed that Blade isn't dead, but is in fact "coming along very well." Both are very nice to hear, especially that things seem to be going smoothly for Arkane, but our best proof yet that the game isn't going anywhere came from the game's lead concept artist Jean-Luc Monnet.

If you want all three of these Xbox-published CEs, it's going to cost you more than a brand new Series X, and those things are expensive nowadays.
Posts By Josh CoulsonWhen asked by a fan on Twitter whether Arkane Studios was alive following the Xbox Showcase, Monnet simply replied with a gif of Walter White with the caption "let us cook", which I doubt would have been done if Arkane was going through some kind of turmoil. So, it seems pretty clear from both unofficial and official sources that Arkane's Blade game is still in development, and that we'll just have to wait a little bit longer to actually see the thing in action. It should be worth the wait though, and if Xbox's pretty strong lineup of games that it showed us yesterday tells us anything, it's that it will be pretty high quality when we do see it.
