One of the best ways of getting a steady supply of food early on is by setting up Hunting Camps and assigning workers to hunt down wild animals and produce meat. Hunters even collect animal hides, which eventually can be converted into clothes and provide comfort for your citizens. As Manor Lords is still in Early Access, players have reported quite a few bugs and errors – one being that hunters stop hunting.

How To Fix Hunters Not Hunting

There are a couple of reasons why your hunters might be refusing to do their job in Manor Lords. The most probable causes of the hunter’s inactivity are tied to the hunting limit, available prey, and storage issues.

Adjust Hunting Limit

When you’re done building the Hunter’s Camp, you will need to set a hunting limit that prevents you from killing all the animals in an area. While this maintains historical accuracy, it would prevent your hunters from going on regular hunts.

A normal hunting deposit in Manor Lords contains 20 animals that can be hunted. If you’ve exhausted this limit, it’s natural that your hunters will become idle until the animal population replenishes.

To remedy this, check your Hunting Camp settings and adjust the limit. Consider re-assigning hunting families to another temporary job (like foraging) to let the herd regenerate.

Decreasing the hunting limit is not recommended, as it will take longer for the animals to reproduce.

Relocate Hunting Camp

Wild Animals in certain areas usually migrate to other locations if you’ve set up a hunting lodge too close to their habitat. If there are no animals in the hunting zone, the hunters will have nothing to hunt.

Simply relocate the Hunting Camp and the hunters should start working normally again.

Ensure Proper Storage

Another reason why the hunters are not hunting is because there is no space to store the hunted meat and hides. This disrupts their normal function and the hunters won’t continue working.

To avoid this, ensure the Storehouse has room for hides and the Granary can properly store all the meat. Assigning different families to the Storehouse and Granary to move these goods to their respective storage locations.
