Magic: The Gathering – The 10 Best Blue Cards In Murders At Karlov Manor

Released in 2024, the set Murders At Karlov Manor comes with a ton of new cards being injected into Magic: The Gathering. The power level of the set is rather high, with enough notable cards to make a splash across multiple formats such as Standard, Pioneer, and Pauper.

MTG decks need great commanders if you're playing that format, and these Azorius commanders can fit the bill.
PostsThe blue selection of cards is among the strongest when looking at individual cards in Murders At Karlov Manor. They open up the doors for entirely new archetypes along with effects that haven't been seen in certain formats. The best blue cards are likely to see play in multiple formats, thanks to their high power level.
10 Behind The Mask
Big Or Small
Behind The Mask is a unique combat trick in that it can flip between being a stat boost or a stat reduction depending on what you need more. One mana to turn an artifact or creature into a 4/3 is solid, as is making a creature a 1/1.
To nerf a creature, you do need to exile cards with a mana value of six, which can be a bit tricky early in the game, but you would want to buff a creature as soon as possible anyway. Since it costs one mana, Behind The Mask has the surprise factor and is especially good in Limited formats like Draft and Sealed.
9 Out Cold
Cold And Stunned
Cards that can't be countered are always worth a look, and Out Cold is a great way to stall your opponent. Not only do you get to put two stun counters on two creatures, but you get a Clue token for your troubles as well to draw with later.
It is an amazing card in Limited, and also solid in control builds to slow down creature-based decks. Since Out Cold can't be countered, it gets around protection such as ward, letting you ignore the tax entirely and putting stun counters to drastically slow your opponent's plays down.
8 Intrude On The Mind
A New Fact Or Fiction
Intrude On The Mind is great in control decks and decks that want their cards in the graveyard such as Esper Greasefang variants. You get a pile in your hand while the other goes into the graveyard, and even get a Thopter token for your troubles to help push your advantage even further.

PostsWhile Intrude On The Mind does have a higher mana cost than preferred, its effect is still fantastic in the right decks. It's a midrange card to help keep your hand refreshed on cards and ensures you have a body to attack or defend with.
7 Dramatic Accusation
Blue's Unconditional Removal
For blue's removal, it generally either simply bounces a card to the hand, on top of the library, or replaces it with another creature. Dramatic Accusation is the first time you can remove a creature without giving your opponent any upside or chance to see it again easily.
Dramatic Accusation can lock down a creature by not letting it untap, and when you have the mana for it, you can shuffle it away for two blue mana. This is a great way to deal with a creature with a powerful on-field ability while getting rid of its ability to attack.
6 Proft's Eidetic Memory
Remember To Give Counters
If you are drawing multiple cards a turn, your deck should include Proft's Eidetic Memory. It turns all excess cards you draw into +1/+1 counters, while giving you no hand size limit so you can run as many card draw effects as you want — and you don't have to discard them.
Proft's Eidetic Memory is especially good in Commander, where decks can easily be built around it thanks to the giant card pool. Since it is so cheap to cast, you can start taking advantage of Proft's Eidetic Memory early on to grow your early creatures into massive threats.
5 Conspiracy Unraveler
Turn Used Spells Into Free Spells
Being able to cheat around mana costs is great, as it lets you cast powerful spells while keeping all your mana up for interaction and other cards in your hand. Conspiracy Unraveler lets you cast any spell if you have a collective mana value of ten to exile out of your graveyard.

Here are the strongest cards to make the most powerful Mono-Blue Commander deck in MTG.
PostsIf you can set up your graveyard with high-mana values (something easily accomplished with cards that cycle themselves), you can load it up with fodder for Conspiracy Unraveler's effect. Conspiracy Unraveler itself does cost a bit of mana to cast, but by the time you do, odds are you will have a lot of cards in the graveyard to collect evidence with for Conspiracy Unraveler's effect.
4 Forensic Researcher
Merfolk Combos
Forensic Researcher lets you untap any other target permanent, or tap down an opponent's creature by collecting evidence. While the latter effect is strong in Limited, Forensic Researcher's first ability is the main attraction.
When paired with Deeproot Pilgrimage and another copy of itself, you can create an infinite number of hexproof 1/1 Merfolk tokens. The combo is made even easier with Agatha's Soul Cauldron, with whom you can give Forensic Researcher's abilities to different creatures. Even outside of this specific combo, having the option to untap a permanent opens the door to more infinite mana combos as it can target lands with its ability as well.
3 Reasonable Doubt
Menacing Counter
Cheap counterspells with an upside are always going to be good, and Reasonable Doubt is no exception. Although your opponent can get around it by paying two mana, even if they do, you still get to suspect a creature to give it menace.
Reasonable Doubt is a great addition to tempo decks, as giving your main creature menace will help it to get in for damage more easily. This is especially true in decks where a creature's power rises such as Haughty Djinn. Two-mana counterspells that force a tax are very playable in Standard, and Reasonable Doubt is the best one in current Standard.
2 Lost In The Maze
Save Your Combos
Even if you don't pay any amount of mana for the X in Lost In The Maze's casting cost, it is still a fantastic card. It gives all tapped creatures you control hexproof as a static ability.
Since Lost In The Maze has flash, you can bring it in at any time in response to an opponent's removal spell to keep a tapped creature safe. What makes Lost In The Maze especially good is how much it protects combos. If your combo involves tapping and untapping infinitely, Lost In The Maze keeps it safe as you can tap down one of your creatures easily to ensure your combo still goes off thanks to gaining hexproof.
1 Reenact The Crime
Double-Up And Steal
Reenact The Crime is a great follow-up to a board wipe or removal spell to either bring back a card you had just lost or to steal something out from your opponent's graveyard. Reenact The Crime does require a bit of setup to make the most of its abilities, but it's worth the effort when you get a free spell.
Notably, Reenact The Crime can take any nonland card and copy it from a graveyard if it was put there from anywhere. So if your opponent is playing a graveyard deck, they will likely mill powerful cards that Reenact The Crime can steal thanks to its instant speed.
