Magic: The Gathering – Every Drop In The Spookydrop 2023 Secret Lair Superdrop, Ranked By Value

It’s the most terrifying time of the year, and for Halloween Magic: The Gathering released a special Spookydrop to help everyone get into the spirit of terror. The Spookydrop isn’t all terror and frights, however, with plenty of value to be found in these collections.

PostsMost of these Secret Lair drops are special partnerships with other intellectual properties like Doctor Who and Princess Bride, while the rest are dedicated to a single artist like PixelLands_v02 and the John Avon collection.
The value of these Secret Lairs is taken from TCGplayer’s Market Value based on the regular, non-foil version of the most recent printing of the card on October 6, 2023, and may change in value over time.
8 Meditations On Nature - $0.50
It is hard to judge what the value of a land-based Secret Lair Drop is like the Mediations on Nature drop. This drop contains one of each basic land illustrated by JungShan, who previously worked on the Kamigawa Ink Secret Lair as well as other specialty cards like the Multiverse Legend card Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer.
These lands are all serene depictions of nature, each one done in JungShan’s unique style. The final value of this Secret Lair is undoubtedly going to be much higher, but since they’re based on basic lands it’s hard to say exactly what it’ll be worth.
7 PixelLands_v02.jpg - $0.50
A second round of basic lands from artist Jubilee comes in the form of PixelLands_v02.jpg. These lands are done in a pixel art style, calling back to classic game aesthetics to create beautiful vistas and wonderful scenes in these full-art lands.

PostsOne major difference between this Secret Lair drop and Jubilee’s initial one is that these lands are regular basic lands, not snow-covered. The total value of the previous PixelLands drop is around $54 so you can expect this drop to climb to a similar value after some time.
6 Secret Lair x Doctor Who: The Weeping Angels - $9.17
Angels have long been a staple in Magic’s history, having been around all the way back in Magic’s first Alpha set. These paragons of white mana and all things good are looking a little different in this Doctor Who Secret Lair.
The Weeping Angels are a multi-dimensional entity that feed on a person’s potential energy, sending them backwards in time and consuming the energy of what they could have done in the future. The only thing that stops them is to look at them, and when you play these cards, your opponents won’t be able to look away.
5 Secret Lair x The Princess Bride - $18.56
Based on the classic fairy-tale film The Princess Bride, this crossover Secret Lair brings all the characters to Magic as reskinned, borderless versions of other Magic cards. Some of the best cards in this drop include Sissay, Weatherlight Captian as Princess Buttercup and Samut, Voice of Dissent as Inigo.
The Princess Bride collection includes beautiful depictions of characters and scenes from the film by artist Dmitry Burmak, Ekaterina Burmak, Sam Hogg, Lius Lasahido, Marta Nael, Néstor Ossandón Leal, Anna Pavleeva, Magali Villeneuve, and Andreas Zafirators.
4 Secret Lair x The Evil Dead - $26.27
Camping out in the woods has only gotten scarier after the release of this The Evil Dead Secret Lair collection. After playing an ominous tape that spoke an evil chant, evil has been unleashed onto your Magic game. The cult classic horror film brings Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams and his unfortunate friends to the game, complete with a Zombie token featuring a Deadite monster.

PostsThese cards are reskins of other cards, with Ash being a Puresteel Paladin and the cabin itself being a Field of the Dead, which is a fantastic way to pick up a copy of the Zombie deck staple. If you’re a fan of the films and show, this is a must-have drop this Halloween season.
3 Secret Lair x Doctor Who: The Dalek Lands - $32.30
You won’t be exterminated if you pick up this special Doctor Who Secret Lair drop inspired by the complete conquering of the Daleks over the universe. While death might be knocking on your doors, at least you’ll have some very cool lands to play with.
These lands take you to not only Earth but other worlds across the universe that the Doctor and his companions have visited. These lands are fantastic in the early game for hitting all the colors you might need in your deck to show your complete dominance over the battlefield.
2 Secret Lair x Creepshow - $33.38
This is a delightfully terrifying crossover with the classic cult horror comedy film Creepshow. Created by horror legends George A. Romero and Stephen King, these double-sided cards feature a classic comic book design on the front, and the card’s text box on the back, but laid out in a way that makes it feel like a comic book.
This Secret Lair features artwork from Cabrol, Andrea De Dominicis, Greg Staples, Jarel Threat, Michael Walsh, and Scott Okumura, bringing all the horrors that dwell deep in your nightmares to Magic.
1 Artist Series: John Avon - $69.56
One of Magic’s premier artists, John Avon has been featured on more than 300 cards since his first piece was printed back in 1997. To celebrate this dedicated artist Magic has put together his own Secret Lair with all his own artwork.
Each card in this set was hand-picked by John Avon, who also wrote the flavor text for all the cards as well. The set is personal to Avon as well, as his wife posed for Serra Angel, while his son posed for Brainstorm.
