As you make your way through My Time at Sandrock, finishing commissions, building things for your new neighbours, and opening up more areas, you'll be given plenty of quests to complete. These range from disguised tutorials to quirky sequences that serve only to get you attached to Sandrock's wonderful personalities. Some, though, are just an excuse to throw down.

PostsFightin' Around the World is one such quest, and has you finding and beating up a Boxing Jack capable of speech named Bogan Jack. Your first conversation with him is destined to go poorly, and this turns into something of a rivalry, all set against the backdrop of the Eufala Desert.
How To Find Bogan Jack
To begin this quest, you'll need to head to the Eufala Desert. This area opens up after you complete the quests related to rebuilding the Shonash Bridge after it is destroyed by the Geegler President.
Once the quest is available, you'll be able to see the usual blue quest marker in the middle of the desert, leading you directly to Bogan Jack and the start of the quest. This first time, you'll find him near the large skeleton in the sand. No matter what you say to him in the initial conversation, you'll be forced to fight him.
After beating him for the first time, Bogan Jack will let you know he'll be back for a rematch. Two days later, tracking this quest should point you to another quest marker. This time, Bogan Jack is found directly to the west of the Shonash Bridge near the Tripion Habitat.
If you open your map, you'll be able to see Bogan Jack's location as a green dot if you aren't tracking the quest. This marks him as a friendly NPC who won't attack you on sight - the red dots are hostile Tripions.
After talking to and beating Bogan Jack a second time, you'll have to wait a few days before he reappears again. This time, though, you can't just make a beeline to his location by tracking the quest and following the quest marker. Instead, you'll need to find him yourself.
Bogan Jack's third location is far to the north. If you head north from Gecko Station and follow the curve of the cliff as it goes left, you'll eventually reach Bogan Jack's location. Beat him here, and you'll finish the quest and get your reward, 1,500 experience and the Golden Belt, which is a decoration rather than an accessory.
He's quite far away from Sandrock, and you might not have built the nearby Yakmel Station yet, so it's best to take a mount to make the return trip faster!
How To Beat Bogan Jack
While he has a unique name and a quest surrounding him, Bogan Jack is pretty much a standard Boxing Jack when actually fought. He has two attacks:
- A three-hit combo with a short windup.
- A long combo that involves a jumping attack followed by a rushing attack. He charges up this combo, so it's easy to see coming.
Avoiding Bogan Jack's attacks is quite easy - dodging to his left or right will allow you to easily avoid his normal attack, and with the long combo, the best strategy is to dodge in any direction to avoid the jumping attack and then wait for his rushing attack. Dodge to the side of the rushing attack once he locks on to your direction, and then use this timeframe to make a counterattack.
Bogan Jack gets stronger every time you beat him. At first, it will be very easy to beat him - he's about as strong as the regular Boxing Jacks you can find in the desert, with perhaps more health. The second and third fights, on the other hand, will be against a Bogan Jack with far more health and harder-hitting attacks.
We recommend being around level 25-30 to have a good chance of an easy time against Bogan Jack. In addition, it would be a good idea to wait until you've reached the third tier of weaponry to make sure you're dealing enough damage to win the war of attrition against him.
Refining your weapon in a Refinery is a good way to get some easy damage boosts, too - refining will only require some Bloodstones, which are mined easily from the grey rocks near your ranch.
As long as you have his attack patterns down and perhaps bring some convenient healing items (such as a stack of Yakmel Milk) to heal in case you get knocked around a bit, you should be totally fine.
