Summary
- MultiVersus just kicked off its second season yesterday, which added Samurai Jack to the roster alongside setting the stage for Beetlejuice later in the season.
- As usual, dataminers have dived into the game's files and found a bunch of interesting teases for future content.
- One big discovery is for a Barbie's Dreamhouse stage, seemingly hinting at a future crossover.
MultiVersus dataminers have found evidence in the files of Season 2 that a crossover with Barbie could be on the way in the near future, as there's currently a Barbie's Dreamhouse stage in development.
Although it's fair to say that the first season of MultiVersus (by which I mean the 2024 version, not the 2022 Season 1) didn't exactly live up to the high expectations, things are definitely looking a little brighter for the game's future. Yesterday marked the start of Season 2, giving fans a brand-new fighter in the form of Samurai Jack, who will eventually be joined by Beetlejuice.

Banana Guard and Jason had my eyebrows raised at first, but I'm just glad MultiVersus has some tricks up its sleeves still.
PostsThose two characters combined with the introduction of Ranked mode and all of the changes made to Rifts and events make MultiVersus Season 2 a big step forward. It seems those steps are only going to get bigger, though, as dataminers have found hints for a bunch of exciting things coming to MultiVersus in the future.
MultiVersus Datamine Hints At Barbie Crossover, Confirms Marceline And Powerpuff Girls
As soon as MultiVersus Season 2 launched, reliable dataminer and insider AusilMV got to digging around the game's files to see what might be in store for the future. The most exciting and concrete discovery that was made was for a Barbie's Dreamhouse stage that's currently in development, which seems to hint at an incoming crossover.
The stage appears to be rather early in development and could just be something that's included in Rifts, which AusilMV notes in their tweet about the stage. Even if the rights are complicated since Barbie is owned by Mattel, it does seem like something that could be worked out considering how successful the movie was.
Funnily enough, the official MultiVersus Twitter account seemingly hinted at a Barbie crossover earlier this year, as it tweeted an image of several fighters standing in front of Barbie's house.
There are several other stages that hint at characters too, like a Steamboat Willie level and a Wabbit Season map that surely goes alongside Daffy Duck. Outside of these stages, though, AisulMV also managed to find character models for The Powerpuff Girls (who use their classic design, thank god) and Marceline from Adventure Time.
Both of those characters have been rumoured for some time to be joining the MultiVersus cast, so it seems that they might be with us sooner rather than later. The Powerpuff Girls especially seem like a good fit for this season considering Mojo Jojo is already in the game and because they'd pair well with Cartoon Network icon Samurai Jack.
