The developers have listed the target resolution, framerate, and preset in the requirements as well. If you’re looking to play at 1080p on the ultra preset with a 60 FPS target, you’ll need something like a Ryzen 7 5800X paired with an RTX 3070. The game is a bit demanding on the CPU side, even at 1080p. The requirements don’t mention any upscaling techniques, so we assume these are for native 1080p.
Image via Saber InteractiveIf you’re on a bit older hardware, you can play Space Marine 2 on the RX 580 paired with a Ryzen 5 2600X at the low preset with a 30 FPS target. Apart from that, you need 75 GB to install the game, and an SSD is required regardless of the settings you play at.
The game is coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 on September 9, 2024. It’s now available for pre-order across all platforms.
Overall, the requirements for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 aren’t too bad, but you’ll definitely need a decent CPU to maintain a stable framerate. We’re still surprised to see GPUs like the RX 580 and the GTX 1060 pop up in these requirement sheets, but considering how popular these cards still are, the developers likely scale their games to support them.
