Should You Break the Frayed Rosary String in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Silksong is real, and I’ve been having one hell of a time with it already. Clearly, you’re enjoying it, too, or you wouldn’t be here, reading the article that’s torn me away from the game briefly!
Recommended VideosJokes aside, I found this Frayed Rosary String item pretty early on, and didn’t want to break it at first in case it had some other use. If you’re having the same question, I’m here to help. Here’s what I’ve found out so far.
Should You Break the Frayed Rosary String in Hollow Knight Silksong?
The answer is no, you shouldn’t break the string – at least not right away. You see, when you die in Silksong, you’ll lose your Rosary Beads, and when you recover your body, you won’t get all of them back.
I shudder to think what would happen if you die in lava. Luckily, I haven’t yet. If you have though, pop us a warning in the comments as to what happens and whether your body is recoverable?
When Should You Break the Frayed Rosary String?
Yes, there is a time when you should break it, and that’s when you’re at a merchant looking to spend your Rosary Beads, and you’re short. You see, you don’t lose the strings when you die, so it’s kind of a bank of sorts.
So as you find more necklaces, think twice before you break them. Naturally, as the genius pro gamer I am, I broke all my strings once I realized they were just currency, and proceeded to pretty much immediately die. Talk about Murphy’s law.
So there you have it, that’s whether you should (and when to) break the Rosary Bead Necklaces in Silksong.
While you’re here, you may be wondering how to farm Rosary Beads early on, or where to find all five of the lost fleas. Hope you’re having as much fun as me!
