Where to Find Ancient Fish Fossils in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

Ancient Fish Fossils are found when fishing near the yellow windmill. From Lloyd’s Hooked on History request description, it says, “They can be fished up near the yellow windmill when the weather takes a turn for the worse.”

There are cases where people have found the Ancient Fish Fossils above and below the waterfall near the yellow windmill, too. However, you have to fish during bad weather to find it.

From experimentation, you can only find it during the rainy season. The wind doesn’t matter, as I’ve seen people find it on days with one or two wind speeds. As for the fishing rod type, Golden Fishing Rods should find it already, but still unsure if Silver Fishing Rods can find them too.

Now, even if everything aligns, it is still “a chance” of finding it. It is actually pretty uncommon to find, but there are some tricks you can use to save some time since this is extremely time-consuming.

The best way to fish for it is to fish normally, but not reel in any catch until you see the diamond icon. You are going to see some exclamation points or even a red guardian fish icon, but all you want is the diamond icon.

When the diamond icon shows up, it is usually an item like a Medal or a Bottle of Starry Sand, but it also includes the Ancient Fish Fossil on rainy days.

Try to wait until the diamond shows up, so you save some time just specifically fishing for the Ancient Fish Fossil. You can always fish everything up since fish also give you money, or you can even find random recyclables, which are very useful at the end.
