How to craft the Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler vehicles in LEGO Fortnite
LEGO Fortnite players have been pining for transportation since the game came out, and we finally have them. The Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler make traveling easier, but you must build them first.
Recommended VideosWhen it comes to making these prefab vehicles in LEGO Fortnite, you must select them in the “Builds” tab in the construction menu. At the very bottom is the “Rugged Rollers” category, with the three vehicles inside. Like a prefab shelter, these must be constructed in stages before they’re ready to drive.
How to make the Speeder in LEGO Fortnite
Screenshot: PC InvasionThe Speeder is a lightweight vehicle and is the fastest of the Rugged Rollers. It is the least expensive to build, so is a good start for simple transportation. It only houses one, so is good for solo Worlds. Note that a companion won’t be able to ride with you, but they will eventually catch up.
With a Small Power Center, the Speeder can only hold one Power Cell, so you will need to keep spares in your inventory to keep it charged and ready to use.
The Speeder requires the following materials:
- 18 Wooden Rods*
- 9 Granite
- 8 Cords
- 8 Wood
- 2 Planks
*Although the game itself says that the build requires 18 Wooden Rods, I’ve only counted 14 needed for completion, including the start-up cost (stage 0).
Below are the stages of building the Speeder, and all the resources and items they require.

How to make the Offroader in LEGO Fortnite
Screenshot: PC InvasionThe Offroader is a larger vehicle than the Speeder and houses four players and NPCs. Although larger, it is only marginally slower than the Speeder.
With a Medium Power Centre, the Offroader can handle two Power Cells to keep it powered for longer.
The Offroader requires the following materials:
- 20 Wooden Rods
- 34 Wood
- 31 Granite
- 16 Flexwood
- 9 Planks
- 8 Cords
- 4 Flexwood Rods
- 2 Torches
- 2 Glass

How to make the Hauler in LEGO Fortnite
Screenshot: PC InvasionThe Hauler is the largest and most expensive Rugged Roller in LEGO Fortnite. It houses four and has a large platform in the back to hold items and chests, making it an excellent mobile base and great for, well, hauling.
With a Large Power Center, the Hauler can hold up to four Power Cells, meaning you’ll scarcely have to swap out the Power Cells, although you’ll need to be able to produce plenty of them.
The Speeder requires the following materials:
- 52 Wooden Rods
- 102 Wood
- 63 Granite
- 30 Frostpine
- 24 Flexwood
- 10 Planks
- 8 Cords
- 6 Frostpine Rods

Damaging and repairing vehicles in LEGO Fortnite
When you’re driving any vehicle in LEGO Fortnite, even the Rugged Rollers, certain parts of the vehicle may be destroyed if it keeps ramming into other objects. The Hauler, especially, is prone to breakage, given how large it is and how frail certain parts are, like the stairs.
Screenshot: PC InvasionTo fix these components, you’ll have to go into the Build menu, go into Toys, and then into Vehicle Parts or Controls, depending on what was destroyed. You’ll have to manually position and place the part yourself.
If this proves too irritating, or you’ve forgotten or can’t find certain parts, then destroying the Rugged Roller and quickly building it again may be preferable.
Attaching Thrusters to vehicles in LEGO Fortnite
When driving, one thing that confused me was the three buttons in the lower right, each with a number and a button to activate them. These turned out to be channels. Each vehicle has three.
When adding a Thruster onto the vehicle, you can use the Wrench to assign it to a Channel. Pressing that Channel’s button will activate the Thruster.
Screenshot: PC InvasionNumerous Thrusters can be assigned to a Channel, giving you more agency over which Thrusters you want active at a time. Also, Thrusters can be assigned to numerous Channels at once. You’ll have to activate the Channel again to turn them off.
Turning my Hauler into a spaceship was not something I thought I’d be doing today, but it sure was fun.
This allows you also to control how much speed you want, and you can attach Thrusters in front of your Vehicle to blast you into reverse to get out of tight spots.
Making vehicles in LEGO Fortnite can be pretty expensive, especially when you’ll need to keep making Power Cells.
