Backpack Battles is a unique inventory management auto-battler. Using all the gear and items you find and buy, you can combine them into even more powerful iterations. For your ease, I’ve collated all the recipes you’ll need.

If you’re after a certain item or want to see every combination that an item is a part of, use the find function. Pressing Control and the F Key at the same time will reveal a search bar — just type in what you want, and your PC will highlight every iteration.

How to Combine Items in Backpack Battles

To combine items in Backpack Battles, the items needed for the combination you want need to be placed next to each other in your backpack.

Thankfully, upon holding an item, if there is anything it can be combined with, blue lines will stretch from both that item and the other items, whether in your backpack or on the shelves. This makes it super easy to quickly find out if an item can be combined with another.

When two fitting ingredients are placed next to each other, the blue lines between them will connect and turn yellow. They won’t combine right away, however. Items will only finally combine upon winning a match.

Also, if you have multiple combinations ready to go, only one will combine – the most recent – upon winning a match. Losing a match will result in no combinations.
