While you may know about all of the Pal Spheres and their types in Palworld, what about their capture rates? This is something I’ve been pondering since I was unsure of which Spheres to use on which Pals.

To make your Pal-capturing life easier for you, here’s a list of all the Spheres you can obtain in Palworld, and what level of Pals you should use them on.

Palworld: Pal Spheres and their catch rates

There are six different Pal Spheres available in Palworld, each being able to catch a higher rarity of a Pal. When looking at them in-game, it won’t tell you exactly what level of Pal you should use them on. Luckily, after some research, I’ve figured out some likely answers to all the Pal Spheres and their capture rates in Palworld.

I got the most helpful information from this Reddit post here, which is a reply to a post on the Palworld subreddit. The user “Nykona” explained how they think it works, and it sounds pretty accurate. Using the correct Sphere type with the correct Pal level adds a catch percentage multiplier. If it’s a lower-level Sphere, you gain a negative catch percentage multiplier. But a higher-level Sphere adds a positive catch percentage multiplier.

This doesn’t mean you can’t catch a level 15 Pal with just the usual Pal Sphere, but it means that there’s a much lower chance of it happening. Everything also stacks up when you take into account your own capture power, which you can upgrade at Statues of Power with Lifmunk Effigies. And of course, when the Pal has a lower HP level, you have a higher chance of capturing them as well.

How to get a back bonus in Palworld

To get a back bonus in Palworld, you’ll have to throw a Pal Sphere at a Pal while they’re facing the other direction. If you do, you’ll see a nice jump in Catch Chance.

It doesn’t matter whether they’re attacking you or aware of you, any hit to the back will trigger a decent jump. It’s enough to encourage doing it every time you try to catch a Pal. Note that as you’re aiming, a pop-up will tell you if a Back Bonus is being added, so you can more accurately discern your chances.

How to increase catch rate in Palworld with Lifmunk Effigies

You can increase your catch rate in Palworld by collecting Lifmunk Effigies around the map and spending them at a Statue of Power. You can perform this upgrade ten times, costing 210 Lifmunk Effigies in total.

This may seem like a lot, but they glow at night, making them easy to pick up if you’re on a flying Pal. Each upgrade boosts your chances only slightly, but they certainly add up.

Do note that there has been some controversy surrounding Lifmunk Effigies, and it’s unknown whether the problem has been fixed. I’d stay away from Lifmunk Effigies for now. Do collect them, but until the problem is fixed, don’t cash them in for levels.
