The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy finally incorporates the theme of some of TS4's most popular mods into the official game, as well as bringing back the flavour of the best-ever Sims spin-off The Sims Medieval (don't at me, it's true). If there wasn't enough Game of Thrones intrigue in your life sim before, this pack ought to satisfy you.

The noble folk of R&L's dynastic families naturally need to be able to flex their skills in a swordfight, avoid doing any real work by declaring that their nobility is a real job, and advance their lineage through the new dynastic prestige perk tree. Which is all well and good, but sometimes your idea for a starting set-up doesn't accommodate the need to build a legacy from the ground up.

To give you a leg up in getting to the good part, below we've listed every cheat we've found so far in The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy.

How to use cheats in The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy

As ever, before attempting any cheats in The Sims 4, you want to enable testing cheats. While not every cheat in TS4 requires this in order to work, the vast majority do, so we always recommend this as a starting point.

To enable testing cheats, first press Ctrl + Shift + C if you're playing on PC/Mac, or hold down all four shoulder buttons simultaneously on Xbox/PlayStation.

This will bring up the cheat console, where you need to type testingcheats true. Enter this cheat and you should receive a notification that cheats have been enabled. You can now use any cheats from further down the page by simply typing them in and hitting enter.

If you want to turn testing cheats off again once you're done, bring up the console again and type testingcheats false. You should receive a notification that cheats have been disabled.

Using console cheats and debug cheats in TS4 is generally very safe – these are tools included in the game by the developers, after all – and usually the worst case scenario sees something simply not working. But there's always a low risk of something going awry, so we recommend backing up your saves often just to be on the safe side.

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy career cheats

Royalty & Legacy adds a new career – the Noble – that works a bit differently to most other careers in TS4. The fact that it's an active career (one where you accompany your Sim throughout the workday) isn't that unusual any more, but it is much rarer to have such stringent prerequisites. Your Sim needs to either be knighted by an existing noble, do research into the possibility of a forgotten noble legacy, or buy a throne before they're allowed to join this prestigious and exclusive career. Or, of course, you could just cheat!

The careers.[add/remove]_career [career] cheat doesn't come in very often in TS4, because joining most careers is as simple as interacting with your Sim's phone and choosing the one you want. However, the special case presented by the Noble does give it some new life. Use the following to immediately join the professional nobility:

careers.add_career Noble

Since Nobles are active career workers, there's no branching pathways through progression. Its most unusual features are gendered noble titles (including non-binary options), something that TS4 had previously more or less done away with, equating to each job level; and the fact that the spouses and any offspring of the Noble Sim gets corresponding title updates as well!

So if you fancy any of the following titles, use these cheats to place your Sims exactly where you want them in the Noble pecking order:

  • Careers.Promote Noble
  • Careers.Demote Noble
Noble Career Level Job Title Masculine Noble Title Feminine Noble Title Gender-Neutral Noble Title Offspring Noble Titles 1 Noble Newcomer Knight Dame Knightum Lord / Lady / Lordem 2 Honorable Herald Baronet Baronetess Baronetum Lord / Lady / Lordem 3 Charismatic Courtier Baron Baroness Baronum Lord / Lady / Lordem 4 Charming Chamberlain Viscount Viscountess Viscountum Lord / Lady / Lordem 5 Influential Liege Count Countess Countum Lord / Lady / Lordem 6 Admirable Aristocrat Margrave Margravine Margrave Lord / Lady / Lordem 7 Opulent Overseer Marchess Marchess Marquem Lord / Lady / Lordem 8 Distinguished Dignitary Duke Duchess Duchum Lord / Lady / Lordem 9 Respected Regent Grand Duke Grand Duchess Grand Duchum Lord / Lady / Lordem 10 Kingdom Leader King Queen Monarch Prince / Princess / Princem Image credit: Maxis, EA.

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy skill cheats

R&L only adds one new skill for your Sims to work into their CVs, but it's a good one, as well as a fittingly high-class hobby: swordsmanship.

This is a major adult skill as defined by TS4, meaning that there are 10 levels of skill progression to work through. There's nothing more upper-class than cheating for a shortcut, however, so if you want to skip the hard work, you can simply use the following cheat, replacing [X] with the desired number from 1-10 to instantly raise the active Sim's skill to that level:

Stats.Set_Skill_Level Major_Swordsmanship [X]

The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy trait cheats

Turns out there's not much to say about your stereotypical posh type that's not already covered under TS4's other traits – which is to say that there aren't any new core CAs traits added with the Royalty & Legacy expansion pack.

There are, however, a handful of new reward traits, some of which we already know how to add using cheats, and others which we're still looking into:

Trait Name Description Trait Type Equip with… Remove with… Threadshifter This Sim can shift their Noble Favor at will. Reward Trait - Gameplay Feat (Anansi Trials) traits.equip_trait trait_Threadshifter traits.remove_trait trait_Threadshifter Blue Blood This Sim has reached Level 10 of the Noble career, and thus builds both Charisma and relationships with other Nobles more easily. We're still working on figuring out how to remove this Career Reward Trait via cheats! Ironclad Reputation The Sim is immune to extortion, but has a better chance of extorting others. The Sims 4 Royalty & Legacy Dynasty Prestige & Unity cheats

Dynasty Prestige & Unity is the new perk tree added in R&L and available exclusively to those Sims who are part of a Dynasty (a new feature found under the Social Groups tab). Despite dynasties as a whole being classed similarly to clubs or organisations, the Prestige & Unity perk tree feature actually works a lot like the supernatural perk trees enjoyed by occult Sims such as Vampires, Werewolves, Spellcasters, and Fairies – but far be it from me to suggest that such powerful individuals are just another kind of monster…

Setting social commentary aside for now, accruing Dynasty Prestige is meant to simulate the experience of climbing the noble ladder over time – although unfortunately, unlike the occult perk trees mentioned above, the dynastic tree just has boring numbered levels rather than cool names to reflect your progress.

Anyway, you can of course just cheat your way up through the ranks by entering the following cheat code, replacing [X] with the numerical amount of Perk Points needed to reach your target level:

stats.set_stat rankedStatistic_Dynasty_Prestige [X]

  • Level 1: 100
  • Level 2: 450
  • Level 3: 1350
  • Level 4: 3300
  • Level 5: 6700
  • Level 6: 11100
  • Level 7: 16100
  • Level 8: 21100
  • Level 9: 26100
  • Level 10: 31100

Having attained Level 10, Sims within the dynasty can continue to earn Perk Points in order to unlock the full perk tree.
