Yep, it's finally happening - the forgotten Final Fantasy is getting a HD remaster.
Final Fantasy 8 Remastered was announced today during Square Enix's E3 presentation.
It's not a remake in the style of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it's another HD version, ala the 7/9/10/10-2/12 remasters. Hopefully it won't have the same sound glitches that have plagued those releases.

It's coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch this year, but no date was set. If you're a fan of the (slightly divisive) Final Fantasy game, this is good news.
Final Fantasy 8 Remastered was rumoured ahead of E3, and it's good to see it come true - now let's hold out hope for a Switch version of Final Fantasy 6, hey?
