Xbox One looks set to have a marquee year at E3 2014, if recent posts by Microsoft's Phil Spencer are anything to go by.

It follows a hiring drive at new Gears of War studio Black Tusk, which promises to deliver an "industry-leading multiplayer experience."

Despite being promoted to head of Xbox, Spencer has still found time to engage with gamers online, something he's typically proven quite good at.

On E3 2014, he stated:

@WolfPackZX @jermaine611 Bringing more than hype, bringing games.

Another gamer egged Spencer on to win the console war, to which he replied:

@Crypt0ll7 @jermaine611 Definitely in to win. We need to do more, that's 100% of my focus.

He later added:

@Fardous27 @Xbox Thanks, that's our plan. Important show for us.

And finally, a statement of intent:

@CapedGamer Been working with new on our plans. You'll hear more in the next month and at E3. I'll have more time to answer now.

It's fair to say that Microsoft is in a stronger position now than it was leading up to E3 2013, given Xbox One's reveal and a few controversial episodes that followed. Spencer certainly seems confident that the company will bring its best face to the show, which could yield potential showings from Black Tusk's Gears of War title, Halo 5, Quantum Break and more.

Come June, we'll know what's in store.
