Dave Bautista says he's tried everything to be in the Gears of War movie

Dave Bautista remains committed to his dream of one day portraying Marcus Fenix in a Gears of War movie. Actor Terry Crews also seems interested in the project.
Actor Dave Bautista, who a year ago emphatically revealed interest in being in a Gears of War movie, has once again said he'd still love to do it.
The actor replied to a tweet asking the powers that be to cast him as Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War movie, explaining that he's "tried everything to make this happen."
"They’re listening. And they could give [a f**k]," said Bautista.
They’re listening. And they could give AF! ?.. but thank you for the support. Believe me when I say I’ve tried everything to make this happen. https://t.co/8THxKLkbdV

It seems Terry Crews agrees Bautista should play Marcus, and he'd be into playing a role in the film himself.
When a Twitter user suggested the duo be included in the movie, Crews said he liked the idea "very much."
Damn. I like this. I like this very much. https://t.co/rMy6z3jQ9O

Bautista and Crews playing Marcus and Augustus "Cole Train" Cole, respectively, would be a rather fun combination.
Very little is known about the Gears of War movie, other than it's going to happen. The idea itself has been floating around since the Xbox 360 heyday, but only gained momentum in the last couple of years. The most recent update was back in 2017, when the project had a writer attached, but who knows if that's still the case.
For his part, Gears boss Rod Fergusson told IGN last month that'd love to have Bautista play Marcus Fenix, but that the decision wasn't ultimately up to him.
