Treyarch's David Vonderhaar has been dropping a few teasers about some of the changes Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout players will see at launch.

It's no secret that armour has been one of the most contentious aspects of game balance in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta.

Treyarch already said it's making big changes for launch, and though exact values have yet to be revealed, studio design director David Vonderhaar said on Twitter that he's very confident in the changes the team has made.

"I’ve been to the future. I’ll tell you what happens. You are all very pleased with the nerfs we did to the armour," wrote Vonderhaar.

In a different tweet, the design director revealed a new option that PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to tweak in Blackout. It has to do with item pickup behaviour.

Basically, because weapon reloading and item pickup are mapped to the same function, it slows down players' ability to pick up loot during the round.

By default, you need to hold the button to pick items up, but Treyarch's new option will allow players to also map item pickup to pressing the button. This will probably interfere with reloading, and Vonderhaar even warned about that, but it's an option players have asked for.

Turning it on should prioritise item pickup over reloading.

Sir David Young and team have created this peace offering. It still needs to go through the normal quality assurance and integration steps. But, ASAP. I promise. Just don’t yell at me when you turn this on but can’t reload after a hot drop! pic.twitter.com/hw2BB4ouMQ
