Wikipad tablet returns with new form factor and price

Gaming tablet is back and much more affordable
Recommended VideosThe Wikipad was originally set to launch last year, but was pushed back indefinitely for the sake of improvements. From the looks of it, that was a wise decision — the gaming tablet has returned in a new 7″ version, down from the original 10″ tablet, with a price that’s half as much. The Wikipad is now aiming to hit store shelves this spring for $249.99.
“We wanted to get Wikipad into our community’s hands and what we found was that the smaller 7″ form factor just seemed right,” said Wikipad Inc. president of sales Fraser Townley. “The smaller frame delivers an aggressive price while keeping the same amazing specs.”
As a reminder, the device runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and those specs are 15 GB of memory with a micro SD slot for up to an extra 32 GB of storage, a 16:10 7″ IPS screen, and an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The full 10″ Wikipad is still in development, it seems, though specifics weren’t given.
