Tools represent items that offer certain in-game benefits thanks to their modifiers. While you can’t upgrade them (yet to find one), you can enhance their in-game effects with the help of a Crafting Kit. Let’s find out how they work and how you can obtain them inside the game.

How does a Crafting Kit work in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Crafting Kits are obtained from vendors in exchange for Rosaries, and they can be pretty expensive. Here’s the official in-game description of the item.

Crafting by claw alone produces inferior results. With this kit you can craft finer, sharper, and deadlier tools… if that is your wish.”

Interestingly, it’s not used for either crafting anything or upgrading the needle. Instead, it will passively improve the effects of your tools. If you have a tool like the Shard Pendant, you’ll get more rewards from it. If you have a tool that does extra damage to enemies, you’ll dish out more DPS. You don’t have to do anything extra; just add the Crafting Kit to your inventory.

The Crafting Kit passives have four tiers (as of writing). The more Crafting Kits you add, the stronger the passive effect becomes.

Where to find the Crafting Kit in Hollow Knight Silksong?

Crafting Kits are obtained from vendors that you come across in specific locations. I got the first one at the Deep Docks from the Forge Daughter. Once you enter Deep Docs, don’t go east where Lace is located. Instead, go down, battle a group of enemies, and exit the room. Then, go right and then up to find a lever that opens the vendor and a bench to take a rest and save your progress.

You can purchase the Crafting Kit from Forge Daughter by spending 180 Rosaries. It’s slightly expensive, but the passive makes it worth it. The remaining Crafting Kits could likely be more expensive, so make sure to farm as many Rosaries as possible.
