Wargaming Seattle has reportedly been shut down

Over 160 jobs affected
Recommended VideosReports are coming out on Twitter that Wargaming Seattle (formerly Gas Powered Games) has been shut down. A branch of Wargaming, which is famous for World of Tanks, the studio was founded in 1998 by Chris Taylor (Dungeon Siege) and members of Cavedog Entertainment. While the studio had come under hard times in 2013, they were eventually acquired by Wargaming and were working on an unknown project.
Michael Schorr, former Lead UX Designer for the studio, stated on Twitter, “today Wargaming Seattle was closed. It was a true pleasure working with and learning from my teammates. If I can help out in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out.” This was corroborated by Tim Borelli, an animator at Thekla Inc, that is now putting out a call to help these devs find new jobs.
So, today Wargaming Seattle was closed. It was a true pleasure working with and learning from my teammates. If I can help out in any way, don’t hesitate to reach out. If you know someone looking for an experienced level designer, game, designer or UX designer, let’s chat!
