Mass Effect More

A new entry in the Mass Effect series, developed by BioWare’s Montreal studio, is currently playable. Not by us outside the studio, of course. BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn tweeted, “Great time playing the next Mass Effect game in Montreal. Ambitious. Beautiful. Fresh but recognizable. And fun!”

An interesting little tease when we know little beyond the fact that it doesn’t involve Commander Shepard and that we shoulstatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/’t call it “Mass Effect 4,” to which I propose, “Mass Effect More.” At least until they give us more — information, like a name.

We do know that it will run on the Frostbite 2 engine and, with the new engine, a lot of the systems are being rejiggered. The team has also said its “‘borrowing’ a lot of game systems from DA3,” which isn’t even releasing until late 2014, which is part of the reason why it’s mildly interesting that the new Mass Effect is allegedly already so playable.

Anyone hoping they tilt the the scale either more towards RPG or more towards shooter? Want something else entirely?
