Smoothies are an absolute staple in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and there are a lot of different recipes to choose from. Each recipe can provide unique perks, and it can be hard to tell which are the best.

Which Smoothie you should make depends on what you’re hoping to get out of using it, or the situations you’re likely to encounter afterwards. The best Smoothies for battle are not going to do you much good if you’re hoping to survive the chill of Hebra Mountain, for instance, while swimming around Zora Cove can be aided by using a Smoothie that increases your swimming speed.

As such, it’s hard to crown any Smoothie as “the best”, but we can break it down to the best recipes for each purpose.

The best Smoothies for energy recovery and healing

One thing that you always need to keep an eye on is your Swordfighter Form energy bar. If you’re not inside a Rift, and therefore have limited access to free refills, then you’ll need to make some Smoothies to fill up the bar.

One perk of these Smoothie recipes is that they also double up as the best for healing as well, so you can restore your hearts at the same time. The best (and easiest) Smoothies to make for this are:

You can also make Smoothies using Tough Mango, but this ingredient is only gained by completing stages of Mango Rush at The Oasis in Gerudo Desert. The ingredients used in the two Smoothies listed above are much easier to come by, especially early on, so they’re a better option to make.

Rather than use any Tough Mangos you’re able to get your hands on for energy recovery or health restoration, you should instead funnel them into Smoothies that reward the Damage Reduction effect. The best recipes for this purpose are:

Damage reduction for 3 minutes

You can also combine a Tough Smoothie with some Monster Guts to make a Tough Potion, which has the same effects as a Sweet Tough Smoothie.

The best Smoothies for each location

As you explore Hyrule, you’ll enter different biomes which require specific protection. Learning which Smoothies can help in each location can make your life a lot easier, and help you survive the wilds of Hyrule.

Jabul Waters

Jabul Waters, which includes the Zora River and Zora Cove is filled with water that needs to be navigated. While there are accessories that can make this easier, such as the Zora Scale that increases swimming speed, you can also give yourself a boost using the following Smoothies:

Hebra Mountain

You’ll need to turn up the heat if you want to survive the cold of Hebra Mountain, especially the first time you venture there. To do this, you can cook up some Smoothies containing Warm Peppers. The best options are:

Warm Pepper + Electro AppleRecovers full energy
Chill–Proof for 1 minuteGolden Piping-Hot SmoothieWarm Pepper + Golden EggRestores 20 hearts
Ice-Proof for 5 minutes

It’s worth noting that Smoothies that make you Chill-Proof are useful when you’re making your way through the cold winds of the mountain. Ice-Proof, on the other hand, will help if you fall into the water or enter into combat with an ice type enemy.

You can also make Warming or Piping-Hot Potions by combining Warm Pepper with Monster Fang and Monster Guts respectively. Warming Potion will render you Chill-Proof for 5 minutes, while Piping-Hot Potion will make you Ice-Proof for 5 minutes.

Eldin Volcano

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Eldin Volcano will pit you against enemies who throw fire and have you exploring a little too close to lava. In order to counter this, you can mix up some Smoothies that will leave you Fire-Proof when consumed.

The best recipes for this are:

Fire-Proof for 3 minutesGolden Chilly SmoothieChilly Cactus + Golden EggRestores 20 hearts
Fire-Proof for 5 minutes

You can also make a Chilly Potion using Chilly Cactus and Monster Guts. This doesn’t come with any additional healing ability, but it will make you Fire-Proof for five minutes, and you’re more likely to have Monster Guts than an abundance of Golden Eggs.

Faron Wetlands

Last, but definitely not least, you’ll need to make yourself immune to lightning if you want an easy life in the Faron Wetlands. Thankfully, there are a few good options for Smoothies that will provide you with this immunity:

You can also make an Electro Potion by combining Electro Apple and Monster Guts, which will render you immune to lightning for five minutes.
