River City Ransom 2 is a thing, coming this Summer
Well … never thought I’d be typing this, but River City Ransom 2 is coming to PC and home consoles. The console version will hit Japan this year, with an online PC version arriving in 2012.
Releasing as Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari 2 in Japan, there are not yet details on a Western release or … anything, really. All we know is that it’s an official followup to the cult 1989 Famicom game.
The original game wasn’t a huge success in the West, but it did gain a following over the years for its sense of humor and unique gameplay. It’s seen quite a few variations on multiple systems, and did almost get a true sequel once.
This is making retro gamers very happy despite lacking any real info, and who can blame them? Now, let us all join together in a huge collective BARF!
