It’s time for your daily next-gen rumor! This latest bit of gossip speculates that Microsoft’s next console will ditch discs entirely, embracing neither DVD nor Blu-ray. Well, that’s one way to fight the used market.
This comes from everybody’s favorite gossiper, Mr. Anonymous Source, who divulged information to MCV “under the strictest NDA.” Apparently it will support some form of solid-state card storage, but discs will be a thing of the past.
Naturally, Microsoft gave its usual canned response, saying it doesn’t comment on rumors while reminding everybody that we should buy a Kinect. Nothing new there.
