MMOs are so vast and laden with content that it’s sometimes easy to forget how much work goes into individual objects. PlanetSide 2 Senior artist, Roel Jovellanos, walks us through one of his designs, a prototype anti-air defence cannon called the Sky Lance.
Apparently it’s a bloody powerful weapon, able to destroy enemy drop ships in a single shot, but it’s a real energy hog and will render bases vulnerable after it’s fired. It’s a pretty nifty looking gun to boot. I’d love to see another video showing it going from a design to a full 3D model in game.
