I desperately want to know what this means.
Like many of us here at Destructoid, I consider Pikmin 2 to be one of the greatest games ever made, so to think that we’re getting more of the game has my heart all a flutter. HMV has a listing for Pikmin 2 in their Wii section of their Canadian website. This could be an error on HMV’s part, a listing for a Western localization of Pikmin 2: New Play Control (which would make sense, as the ESRB rated it a while back), or something else entirely. All I know is, I read the words “Pikmin 2“, and now I’m freaking out.
Total speculation time — I’m thinking that this is build up for Pikmin 3 (which I guessing will be on the successor to the Wii or the 3DS). It would make sense for Nintendo to further build and strengthen the Pikmin fan-base by re-releasing the best game in series shortly before embarking on a new Pikmin title.
Make that happen, Nintendo. Make it all happen.
