Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is real accommodating. That’s not to say there aren’t bouts of frustrating mission failures and humiliating chicken hat offers, but all things considered (even without the time-slowing Reflex mode), it is way more forgiving than past Metal Gear and other stealth games.

Almost too easy.

This TTP Hardcore Mod does the following:

  • Increases enemy hearing and vision ranges approx 50%
  • Adds additional benefits to utilizing weather and camouflage during stealth.
  • Decreases enemy knockout time by about 25%
  • Increases bullet damage by roughly x2.5 default.
  • Decreases ammo and item capacities by around half default.
  • Changes the empty magazine gadget from unlimited uses to 10 uses (can be restocked by calling in a resupply)

It’s the easier detection that’s key, I think. But I’m also playing on PS4, where I can tough it up, and even if I could? Well, I’ve not felt too compelled to lower the brightness to make nighttime less than super ideal, so, maybe I’m not going to intentionally make things harder.
