Petroglyph is entering into the multiplayer online battle arena game market (for realsies) with its free-to-play Rise of Immortals, now scheduled for a full launch on September 12.
It’s currently in open beta, and anyone thinking they might stick around for a while after this launch will want to sign up. Testers get 1,000 Petroglyph Coins (worth around $10) at launch and an exclusive Immortal skin. Also, logging into Rise of Immortals signs you up to win a 3D monitor, GTX 560, 3D Vision glasses, and more swag.
I find it fascinating that the industry can support so many microtransaction-funded games.
