Fallout: New Vegas senior producer Jason Bergman has taken to the Bethesda forums to give us an update on where the post-apocalyptic action-RPG is at.

The next downloadable content is ready — expect an official announcement “very soon” — but they wanted to get another patch out beforehand. Bergman says the patch is now going through certification, and with any luck, it’ll be out in the “next couple of weeks” on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

As for what’s included, optimizations and stability improvements were the focus, with bug fixes, weapon balance tweaks, and other requested fixes thrown in as well. It’ll be nice to play through the final mission without freezing issues, for sure.
