The Riders of Rohan expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online has been delayed until October 15, 2012, slightly more than a month after the originally scheduled release date. As noted by executive producer Kate Paiz, the decision stems from player feedback given during the game’s beta.

“Thanks to some great efforts from beta players,” writes Paiz, “we’ve identified issues that we think need to be addressed before we can launch. In order to address those issues and meet our expectations for quality we’re going to need more time.”

Everyone who pre-purchased Riders of Rohan will be credited 500 Turbine Points and, around September 5, receive a code redeemable for a goodie bag. Inside are the following consumable items: 100% XP Boost (1hr), Slayer Deed Accelerators x1 (60 min), +20% Renown (3 hours), +20% Mount Speed (1 hour), Tome of Defence, and Scroll of Finesse. Bummer, but the delay is clearly well-intentioned.
