Lost Reavers is being developed by a younger core staff

At the request of Harada
Recommended VideosIt’s still unknown whether or not the Wii U’s Lost Reavers will sport a fair free-to-play scheme, but for now, it’s looking interesting enough for me to keep following it. Speaking to Famitsu, producer Katsuhiro Harada (famed Tekken developer) noted that the team consists of people in their 20s and 30s, so that they could get some grounded experience before they were dropped into a major AAA title.
The game will also be loot-based, encouraging players to constantly fight bosses to obtain better equipment. Weapons include katanas, assault rifles, bazookas, and shotguns, and skill trees are confirmed, as well as a “workshop” to power-up weapons. A protection-based mechanic is also in, as you’ll have to defend your co-op partners while they’re particularly vulnerable, like carrying treasure. Sounds interesting.
