JRPGs getting out-JRPG’d by KRPGs

Just aesthetically, Peria Chronicles looks better than all these budget, tropefest JRPGs that fill time between Persona installments. And it’s more impressive when you realize that this is a (Korean) MMO with a full customization suite similar to Landmark.

Some of it is rough and the editable environment textures are bland, but other bits shine bright. Those monster designs give Ni no Kuni a run for its money, though the latter focused on a consistent, rounder, cuter, and more minimal look.

As far as I’ve been able to find, an English client is not being made, but I’m interested in all the lovely Korean games that we’re seeing out of G-Star, like Ghost in the Shell Online. And we looked at the better-than-Diablo-y Lost Ark yesterday. I look forward to my trip to Korea to attend next year’s G-Star. Please?
