Bayonetta and Viewtiful Joe designer Hideki Kamiya has given Sony a stern finger-wagging, criticizing PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale for being nothing more than a rip-off. The developer went so far as to try and shame the publisher, shaking his head at the lack of visible morals.

“No. I don’t like that game,” he told a fan on Twitter. “It’s just a rip-off … I don’t like rip-off, that’s all.”

When a gamer tried to justify it by saying Sony was only listening to fans and capitalizing on a successful series, Kamiya responded with, “And throw morals away. Great.”

While I am looking forward to All-Stars, I think we all need to be honest enough to admit that it is a rip-off. It might be great fun, and could be an awesome game … but it’s still a rip-off. The people currently slamming Kamiya on Twitter are deluded if they think it isn’t … and if Nintendo or Microsoft put out a game that looked exactly like Uncharted, they’d be the first f*ckers to cry foul.

The game is a rip-off. Doesn’t mean it won’t be good. It’s just what it is.
