Jeff ‘Yak’ Minter is a pretty well-known figure in the indie gaming industry. He’s been coding since the ’70s and running his own company Llamasoft in recent years, and has produced a ton of colorful shooters like Neon, Space Giraffe, and Minotaur Rescue.

Now he has his sights set on a Sony platform yet again with Polybius, which is a PlayStation VR exclusive inspired by retro arcade experiences. If you’re keen, it’ll be playable at Play Expo in Manchester, England this weekend, and since the game is “nearly done,” it might see a release in the near future.

It’s interesting to see Jeff working with Sony again after they didn’t support him with the legal troubles he had with Atari over TxK. I makes sense why Sony wouldn’t get involved, but usually when this sort of thing happens a developer storms off and works elsewhere. I’m glad they were able to continue their partnership, and Polybius looks cool enough for me to check out.
