Idle hands are the Devil’s plaything
Recommended VideosDick Hand is a game in which the player defends themselves from enemy ships and space debris with a “cleaning apparatus” they have limited control over. The apparatus is a lengthy tube, ends in a hand, and is positioned on the player’s armored suit in what you could call the “genital triangle.” Hence, Dick Hand.
The game is the work of notable game composer, Jake “Virt” Kaufman, who contributed Dick Hand to the 2013 Global Game Jam earlier this year, developing it over 48 hours. In this video, you can (kind of; sorry) hear Jake talking about it with our own Rick Olson from his appearance on Mash Tactics last night.
I gave it a go and it is pretty amazing. I love that there’s a justification for the presence of the cleaning apparatus, that there’s a greater purpose than the humor value alone.
