While the functionality for the Switch eShop is set to go live “sometime before launch” (read: tomorrow, likely before the system drops in Japan and Europe) — the first core system update isn’t available yet. Hence, no one has seen the eShop until today, when Nintendo put out a video of the interface.

The quick clip goes over the “news” feature, which has various updates by way of the home menu — this will work out of the box. But the brief glimpse at the eShop UI is what you’ll want to check out. It also re-confirms that if you have any funds in your Nintendo accounts, you can merge them and use them across all platforms, as well as download games in sleep mode.

Nintendo also confirmed that the update itself will be done in the background, so you can play Zelda if you want until it’s time to apply the patch.
