Upcoming Genshin Impact banners

The 5.5 update to Genshin Impact is confirmed to include Varesa (Electro) and Iansan (Electro). Varesa’s name has been mentioned a few times, while Iansan played a major role in Natlan’s story quests. Aside from their element, their kit details have yet to be officially confirmed.

How good are the current Genshin Impact banners?

Disclaimer: There is no pity for a specific 4-star character or weapon. Do not pull for a specific 4-star unless you are prepared to pull several 5-stars along the way. Do not pull on the weapon banner unless you are okay with receiving at least one of each featured weapon.

How good is Wriothesley?

Wriothesley is a decently strong on-field Cryo DPS. He works just fine in both Freeze and Melt teams, but he’s not particularly popular in the meta either. Overall, I recommend you save your Primogems for Furina, Neuvillette, or Mavuika instead.

How good is Furina?

Furina has proven herself to be one of the best characters in Genshin Impact. She’s an off-field Hydro DPS and support, dealing significant damage on top of buffing her entire team. If you don’t have Furina, you should at least try to pull her. While you don’t strictly need Furina to excel in Genshin’s combat events, she’s a mainstay in many of the most popular teams.

4-Star Characters

The featured 4-star characters are Mika, Chongyun, and Charlotte. Mika and Charlotte are good Cryo healers who synergize well with Furina. Mika in particular is able to buff ATK Spd and Physical damage. Chongyun does not see much play, but he is currently the only character in Genshin Impact who can infuse melee attacks with Cryo. This allows for some unique, if gimmicky, Freeze teams. You should never pull specifically for 4-star characters, but grabbing Mika or Charlotte on your way to Furina is a pretty good deal.

5-Star Weapons

Cashflow Supervision is Wriothesley’s signature weapon. While I don’t recommend obtaining this weapon for Wriothesley, it’s still a decently strong CRIT Rate Catalyst. It synergizes quite well with Wanderer, and you can even try it on Yanfei.

Splendor of Tranquil Waters is Furina’s signature Sword. While this is a great weapon for her, you really don’t need it for Furina to shine. She is still very strong with 4-star options like Festering Desire or Fleuve Cendre Ferryman. Due to Furina’s significant Energy requirements, I recommend using an Energy Recharge sands if you choose to equip this weapon.

4-Star Weapons

The 4-star weapons are quite good, if you don’t have them already. Rust is great for Normal Attackers like Yoimiya or Childe. Dragon’s Bane can be used on many Polearm characters like Xiangling, Hu Tao, or Raiden. The Widsith is often the best 4-star weapon for Catalyst DPS characters. Favonius Sword has great utility for Sword-wielding supports. Sacrificial Greatsword is the least enticing of the bunch, but even that has uses on Sayu or Chongyun.
