I don’t think I ever bought a weapon skin for Gears of War 3, but plenty of folks did. Good job, old me — you were prone to buying stuff like that in those days but you held strong.

Anyway, the skins are back for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. If you pre-order, the base game is $39.99 and includes the animated imulsion skin for the Lancer and Gnasher as well as access to Adam Fenix and Civilian Anya in multiplayer. For $20 more, there’s the Deluxe Version — it has that stuff, 10 animated weapon skins, 36 standard skins, and Aaron Griffin and Civilian Marcus Fenix.

You can go a step further by pre-loading the game on Xbox One should you feel the need to sacrifice some of that precious hard drive space. It won’t be playable until August 25, 2015, though.

The Coalition also shared the revamped opening cinematic. Love that logo animation.
