This isn’t shocking, but now it’s official — Insomniac Games has revealed that it’s currently developing Resistance 3.

Announced at Sony’s gamescom press conference today, the game was teased with a live-action trailer to get players hyped for the game’s 2011 release. The game is in development at Insomniac’s Burbank, California studio; earlier today, it was revealed that the North Carolina studio is hard at work on a new, cooperatively multiplayer Ratchet and Clank title.

“We’ve listened to your feedback to help fine-tune what we know will become a respected addition to the franchise,” Insomniac said in its newsletter today.

Not much info on the game is known, but per the Statue of Liberty in the game’s logo (pictured above), one can expect to see Chimera stomping all over the East Coast.
