Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance gets a new trailer, release date, and an upcoming Fortnite Island

It’s not often that Gundam gets much mainstream coverage outside of dedicated anime streaming services. So, for a new movie exclusive to Netflix is quite the sight. Promotions for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance are beginning in earnest as we now have a second trailer, a release date, and word on a Fortnite collaboration.

In an X post by the Gundam.Info NA Official account, we’re treated to a new trailer for Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. It doesn’t tell us much more than we already knew from the first trailer. 11 months into the One Year War, a platoon of Zeon troops, the Red Wolves Division, is sent to reclaim the fallen base of Kneeland. During this operation, the platoon encounters a terrifying new opponent, the Gundam.
After seeing this second trailer, I’m now nervous. The first trailer used a “less is more” approach, which hid the stiff animations with quick cuts and used sparse dialogue. I’m hoping I’m simply being paranoid, but we’ll all find out together when Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance is released on October 17, 2024, on Netflix.
The second bit of news is that there will be a Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance island coming to Fortnite later this year. While the X post didn’t share any further information, it’s safe to assume we’ll see the island released around the same time as the film. I wouldn’t be opposed to some Gundam skins coming along for the ride, much like Epic wouldn’t be opposed to me handing over cash for them.
Even more Requiem for Vengeance is coming – this time to Fortnite!

2024 has been an interesting year for Gundam fans. We had the surprise crossover with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III back in May, the Gundam Factory Yokohama shut down, and Gundam Breaker 4 was announced. There’s been even more, like the Gundam Crocs, but I don’t have the word count to get into all of it.
