The kitsune mask means…

As I’ve said many times, Epic Games always finds ways to keep people interested in Fortnite. While people argue about the gun meta on a week-to-week basis, behind the scenes Epic is adding a ton of general content to the game, from new weapons and items to sweeping map changes, events, and cosmetics.

Keeping the userbase hooked is a large reason why it has the popularity it commands right now, and Season 5 is just on the horizon. With just three days to go the official Fornite Twitter account is teasing…something. We can make out a kabuki kitsune mask as well as the clear artwork of the crack in the sky from the recent in-game event, and…that’s about it.

A lot of people are speculating that time travel or some expansion of the superhero theme is imminent, but the kitsune motif could also be some sort of spiritual tie-in to Japanese folklore. After how fun the cracking of the sky was to witness, I hope it measures up.
