Facebook, video editing coming to PS3 in next update

Sony today has announced the upcoming availability of the latest firmware version for PlayStation 3, version 3.40.
The update will bring with it a host of new features, including support for the upcoming PlayStation Plus, which launches tomorrow, June 29. Also added will be a new network-based photo sharing feature, which will allow users to upload, browse, and comment on photos on sites like Facebook and Picasa. (Content can also be shared with PSN friends, as well).
A video uploader will be added to the XrossMediaBar as well, and will allow you to edit, save, and uploaded files saved on your PS3. The files can then be shared on YouTube and Facebook.
What’s with all of this Facebook talk? Facebook will be getting a brand new PlayStation Network application that will allow you to further integrate your Facebook and PSN experiences.
Expect the PSP to get its own update with version 6.30 adding PlayStation Plus compatibility as well as “other minor features.”
