Xbox One S released yesterday which means that someone has already taken it apart. Sure, it requires voiding the warranty but that wasn’t much of a concern for Austin Evans, a YouTuber who specializes in breaking down and analyzing tech. As it turns out, the Xbox One S’ interior actually has quite the tidy layout. It’s also hiding a neat little secret.

Every Xbox One S has a Master Chief graphic etched onto the optical disc drive. Just a small nod to the hero most closely associated with Xbox. It can be seen at about 1:13 in the video. There’s also a picture of it in the gallery below.

This easter egg isn’t really for anyone in particular. How many people are going to take apart their Xbox? It’s probably just the design team having fun and being allowed to add a touch of personality. That’s not unprecedented at Xbox. Every Xbox One controller says “Hello from Seattle” on the inside of the battery compartment. They’re just a couple of quirky inclusions that will slightly brighten the day of anyone who happens to stumble across them.
