Hucast Games keeping Sega’s final console on life support

Recommended Videos

The Dreamcast has been dead for well over a decade, but the venerable console’s library still grows to this day. Slowly but surely independent developers continue to release games the platform, such as Gunlord, hoping that its vocal community of supporters still care enough to support “brand new retro games.”

And it appears that they do. A shmup by the name of Redux: Dark Matters turned into a surprise success on Kickstarter last year. Hucast Games raised more than double its original $25,000 goal and is currently putting the finishing touches on the product. That’s not the only thing that they have in the oven, however.

The Ghost Blade is an arcade shooter said to feature an elaborate scoring system and several games modes. The title is due for release sometime later this year, but those interested in pre-ordering can reverse a copy directly from the developer starting tomorrow.
