Dtoid Designs is back for the threequel and this time, it’s personal. Originally for the third month of the contest I was going to go with a festive theme that celebrated the holidays. But then I remembered that Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out this month… and The Hateful Eight… and Krampus and Concussion and Joy and The Revenant and oh yeah, December is a great month for movies. Screw the holidays, let’s celebrate the silver screen!

For December, in honor of all the great awards-bait movies coming out this month, I’m issuing the Mario at the Movies challenge. Your objective is simple: pay tribute to a movie using Super Mario Maker. You can recreate your favorite scene or try to recreate the entire film in a single level. What you create is up to you, just make sure to have fun with it.

To enter this month’s contest, simply leave a comment below with your level ID, level name, and the name of the movie your level is inspired by. Entries must be received by December 15 and once your level has been accepted, you will get a message letting you know. Once again, please do not change or delete your level after it has been entered.
