Microsoft announced at its CES 2012 press conference that Kinect is coming to Windows on Westatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/esday, February 1. Personally, getting Ryan Seacrest to co-host and bringing out a Tweet choir were more shocking moments, but I’ll take it.

It was revealed this evening that 18 million Kinect sensors have been shipped so far. With such a huge customer base, you can forgive many of us for expecting more from the software. Opening the technology to Windows should help on that front.

Microsoft distatic.aayyy.com/topic/dn/’t mention whether or not our current Xbox 360 Kinects would be interchangeable with the new Windows ones. If that isn’t the case, this pricing had better not be final.
