According to a report by Sankei, Capcom is going after Koei Tecmo for patent infringement. Capcom filed a patent in 2002 on the works behind content coming from the combination of new and existing software. Almost 50 titles from Koei Tecmo, including Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors games, are said to infringe.

Capcom is suing for about 980 million yen ($9.4 million). They’re also looking to acquire up to 10 percent of license fees as well as the suspension of sales of several titles.

Another infringement relating to controller vibration when enemies appear nearby is also mentioned in the report.

Koei Tecmo says that there was no infringement.
