Cyberpunk 2077 Throwing Knives: Where to Get and How to Use Them

Numerous different weapons are available for players to try out in Cyberpunk 2077. Knives are one such weapon, giving V an easy way to deal some quick damage to foes. Though these are meant for up-close engagements, it’s possible to use knives as a ranged weapon as well. Anyone with a couple of knives should know how they can start throwing them at enemies in Cyberpunk 2077.
How to Use Throwing Knives in Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t have a specific category for throwing knives, instead allowing every knife to be thrown at the player’s leisure. You can do this by holding down the aim/block button and pressing the fire button. This will launch the knife forward and get it stuck inside an enemy or the ground, after which you can retrieve it yourself or wait for a cooldown that appears over your crosshair to get it back automatically. As of update 2.0, you no longer need to obtain a perk before you can throw knives.

You can also get quite a few through story quests, with an iconic knife being available from a dead body in The Heist. It’s practically impossible to miss this specific body, so be sure to loot it as soon as you’re able to.

Knives aren’t the only throwable melee weapon in Cyberpunk 2077, with hatchets being a helpful alternative. Additionally, while there’s no need to unlock the ability to throw weapons, taking some perks from the Cool tree will increase your damage and decrease your recovery with them. Certain skills like Headhunter will also assist in your proficiency with throwing weapons. If you wanted to, you could easily make a build focused on nothing more than throwing knives.
