Twelve Minutes (formerly 12 Minutes but changed, presumably because numeral digits are passé) will not launch in 2020 as once expected. Time is a flat circle in both Twelve Minutes and life, so it’s perfectly apropos that we have one more delay before the year’s out.

This is one-third of the Annapurna delays that were announced today. Twelve Minutes, The Artful Escape, and Last Stop are all now scheduled for 2021. The publisher says they’re all close to done, and “it’s pretty much polishing at this point.”

they’ve all come together throughout the year and it’s pretty much polishing at this point! make sure to follow @12minutesgame, @VariableState, and @TheArtfulEscape too

Twelve Minutes has been one that I’ve had my eye on ever since it was announced at E3 2019 and I got to write the headline Groundhog Day + family tragedy = 12 Minutes. Later at the show, Darren went hands-on with it and made it sound even better. Then came the revelation a few months ago that James McAvoy, Willem Dafoe, and Daisy Ridley signed on as voice actors. How good does that all sound?!

Annapurna has a pretty sterling record when it comes to signing talent who can execute on their unique creative visions. Even though I’ve spent most of the year aggressively wanting Twelve Minutes, I’m fine waiting a little longer. But, like, closer to 12 minutes longer than 12 months longer. Deal?
