Microsoft says its Halo television show won't be filler
The IP is too important
Recommended VideosMicrosoft is working on a Halo series for television later this year that’s being executive produced by Steven Spielberg. That sentence represents the majority of what we know about the project, but worry not — Microsoft Game Studios corporate VP Phil Spencer says it’ll be good.
“I definitely don’t think of it as filler,” he told OXM. “Halo, you could argue, is the most important entertainment IP that Microsoft owns. I can’t use the word filler anywhere near Halo, it just won’t work. If we’re going to do a television series with Halo, we’re going to do it the right way, and we’re going to do it because we think it really matters.”
We shall see. I enjoyed Forward Unto Dawn for what it was, but the words “Halo” and “filler” absolutely can be used in the same sentence, as evidenced by Spartan Assault.
